There are different types of Bitcoin wallets, like web or hardware. Can you explain the difference?

There are several types of wallets.

Web wallets are hosted by a trusted third-party and can be accessed via browser. Coinbase and Blockchain are the most well-known ones of this kind. Web and mobile wallets are the most beginner-friendly types out there, but do your own due diligence before choosing a web wallet.

Mobile wallets can be used on iOS and Android mobile devices. BRD is a great all-mobile wallet. Major Bitcoin companies, such as Coinbase and Blockchain, complement their web wallets with fully functional mobile applications so you can use them from a computer and on the go intechangeably.

Desktop wallets are the ones that you install directly on your own computer as a standalone software. By design, they give you complete control over your bitcoins. Please note that with desktop wallets, you’d have to spend some time getting the hang of how they work. Electrum is a popular desktop wallet.

Hardware wallets are a special class of bitcoin wallets that store user's private keys on a secure hardware device. Best examples are Trezor and the much-hyped Ledger.
